2500 – 3000 word paper which provides your reflection on the different aspects of Strategic HR Planning that we have covered in the course.
This does not mean that you are required to reflect on each chapter topic individually. Rather you should strive to provide your reflections on how the different aspects of strategic HR planning are inter-related and connect to make your life as a strategic HR planner better or more challenging. Consider the opportunities and challenges presented to the strategic HR planner by the various topics we have covered. How does supply ; demand impact forecasting and how does that impact success planning or outsourcing and what role does IT or assessment play in the process? Is it different domestically or internationally? How can what we now know about strategic HR impact decision on mergers and acquisitions and how can our organization benefit (or what risks are involved).
I do not expect you to answer these questions specifically. This is a reflection – an opportunity for you to sit back and consider all the information holistically and in terms of the system of an organization. Pretend you are a strategic HR planner out there in the real world and you have just learned all this great stuff … how does it change how you will do your job? what opportunities and challenges are presented by this information? how do they inter-relate to make the organization more effective? efficient? productive? agile? innovative? etc …
Use systems thinking to consider the impact and relationships, use the what, so what, now what approach to analysis, think like a strategic HR planner and include all aspects of strategic HR planning as covered in the chapters of the text.
Changing the format requires changing the rubric as well. This will be added to Assignment 3 on this page. Please review it carefully to ensure you are writing towards an ‘A’
